Apple Watch Series Eleven Review: Superb Wrist Gestures and Longer Battery Life
This most recent Apple Watch Series 11 brings the one thing most people truly desire from their wrist gadget: extended battery performance.
In other aspects, the new model serves as a direct replacement to the Series 10, keeping pace in design, dimensions and functions, with the majority of its upgrades originating from the operating system.
The latest version is also priced £30 lower within the United Kingdom, available from £369 (€449/$399 USD/679 Australian dollars), and sits above the recently updated Watch SE at £219 in the budget category and the premium Ultra 3 at £749 at the high end.
Build and Interface
Following the design of Series Ten, this updated version measures only 9.7mm thick, which makes it a trim appearance to the wrist, easy to sneak under cuffs plus more pleasant during sleep.
Featuring a 2,000nit interface is plenty bright for seeing in various lighting, staying legible to read off-angle, which makes quickly looking for timekeeping or alerts simple.
The surface features using glass that is twice as scratch resistant than earlier versions, while not reaching the hardness of sapphire crystal, which is reserved with the higher-end titanium editions.
Capability and Runtime
This latest device features the same S10 chip from the previous generation with new capability for optional 5G plus enhanced signal strength during situations exploring remote areas.
The batteries demonstrate growth in storage significantly in the 42 millimeter and larger versions correspondingly.
Bigger version achieved approximately 48 hours during evaluation featuring overnight analysis when not used for fitness.
Most people can nearly monitor 48 hours including sleep prior to requiring power, needing just over an hour with a 20-watt or greater power adaptor (not included), reaching approximately 70 percent in half an hour.
If you do go out for a run, it will last around 8 hours while recording, sufficient duration for endurance events or extended activities.

This includes Apple's new Liquid Glass interface, which makes most elements partially transparent, and adds fresh interface options: a big digital interface named Flow sensitive to gestures and an analogue face named Exactograph, that separates hours, minutes and seconds as separate indicators.
The best new feature is the wrist-flick gesture, involving quick rotation your arm outward and then back to dismiss things returning to the home screen.
This functions without lifting your arm to look at the watch, enabling wearers to dismiss alarms through simple motion with your hand.
Activity Analysis
The Apple Watch features the same comprehensive fitness analysis system of tools from previous models plus including several fresh capabilities along with updated fitness program.
Blood pressure notifications look for signs of high blood pressure over a 30-day period, alerting users to get yourself checked out if your heart rate data suggests you may have underlying conditions.
Enhanced sleep analysis makes Apple's sleep tracking simpler to understand, comparable to rivals from multiple companies.
Each morning the watch shows a numerical rating separated into components in three sections: duration, bedtime and interruptions, all being easy to understand and viewable via the health software through your mobile as well.
Fitness assistant serves as automated guidance utilizing your previous workout data to deliver motivational messages before and after workouts, including identifying that you have already run regular activity patterns and the level of effort you achieved.
Also featuring spoken alerts when you reach specific targets while working out, such as a particular pace, pulse rate, distance, duration or additional measurements.
Options include of three voices, which speak to you over Bluetooth headphones synced to the wearable for one of 12 activities, including walking, running or cycling.
But, this feature depends on when you bring along newer iPhone models with you, which I found irritating enough that I would forgo the function preventing inconvenience with a phone on runs.
