19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts

A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his first title for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has experienced a difficult year, winning just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in particular - led to him falling of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-time trainer his previous coach.

Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks the player's first title after the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt from that period of 2023.

Victory also signifies the Russian has won twenty-one championships at 21 various tournaments.

"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my children at once, so to win a title is especially meaningful," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six finals, including in Halle previously this season.

Medvedev's defensive approach and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had caused commentators to doubt if his ability to play at the top level was concluded.

However the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and play assertively, backed up by an better service.

The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult opponent, winning 4 of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.

Both players traded service breaks in the following set before the challenger, striving for his maiden ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to push for a decider.

The opponent rescued four initial opportunities in a close deciding set before Medvedev broke to that score to secure the win.

Appropriately, he earned victory with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
